The mission of the First United Methodist Church Children’s Ministry is to encourage and support children in their spiritual journey as part of the community of believers by providing them opportunities to experience and share God through play, service, prayer, and celebration.

 

 

Our philosophy is to meet children where they are, accept them for who they are, and do our best to accommodate their needs and learning styles.  By supporting and encouraging them in a comfortable, safe place, they are able to develop physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually without being overwhelmed.  By partnering with families, we help reinforce healthy development and strengthen bonds with the family, congregation, and community.  By planning our programs strategically, we promote diversity while assuring continuity and consistency in spiritual development from birth through adulthood.
